SUSTAINABLE ARTISAN CHARCOAL FROM TAW VALLEY
Now available from our supplier in the Taw Valley in North Devon, this artisan made charcoal is about as sustainable as it gets! The wood (hazel, ash, oak, birch and willow) all comes from sustainable forestry and land management, carried out within a 15 acre woodland. 90% of UK lumpwood charcoal is imported, and typically denser than UK charcoal making is harder to catch light without the use of an accelerant. Our Devon made charcoal is simply carbonised hardwood. It contains no chemical additives and can be lit using paper. It’s a joy to cook with and a natural option for barbecues or food smokers. The charcoal are packaged in 2kg bags.
